I remember sitting down on a bench at the local train station and jumping up immediately after the cold puddle on the surface soaked quickly through to my backside. I’d had had a particularly rough day and that was the absolute last thing I needed. I jumped up with a start and let out an expletive (yes, I confess) to be greeted by a very strange look from an elderly lady. Wet Seat is the result of that rather frustrating incident and serves to remind me that sometimes we have to deal with these sorts of annoyances and not to let them get to us.

When you sit down on a wet seat

It's enough to make you bleat

And jump back right to your feet

When you sit down on a wet seat

You want to find something to kick

Its enough to make you spit

And fly into an unruly fit

When its soaking right where you sit

If it is uncomfortable, if it is annoying

And with your sanity this situations toying

Then think about the map of Oz sprawled over your backside

Then the only thing thats left to do

Is arise from thy behind

If you don't laugh you'll only cry must now get a grip

Before the next one happens check out how you sit

But if it all gets too much then you know what to do

Take a look inside the book that's right there next to you
